RAAM Training Camp

The Team Type 1 Elite/Developmental team was formed out of the desire to showcase cyclists with diabetes during one of the toughest races in the world – the Race Across America (RAAM). Seated at the top-rung of ultra-endurance competitions, the 3000-mile RAAM is 30% longer than the Tour de France; yet it is finished in less than one-third of the time! The 2007 Team Type 1 RAAM team finished first in the 8-person division and set a new world record. Now in 2009, they will once again aim to cross the line faster than any other team in history.
